Our research project:
The goal of our research project, partially funded by a grant from SARE, is to determine the optimum level of nitrogen application to fall planted rye. We applied 4 levels of nitrogen to 3 replicated sets of 4 paddocks. We measured the forage production, grazed yearlings, weighed the yearlings, and planted corn. The final component to be measured is the yield of the corn in the fall of 2001. Click below to go to more detailed pages.

Project input and results. Since the full results will not be measured until the corn is harvested in the fall of 2001, check back periodically. We'll be taking tissue samples of the corn during the summer and posting results, also.
